Cyber Monday lands on Monday 30 November 2026. Here is which UK retailers are taking part, what the price data says about the deals, and the new protections that apply this year.

TL;DR: Cyber Monday 2026 in five points Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday 30 November, three days after Black Friday on Friday 27 November. It is also the last working day of November, so for millions of people paid on that day, Cyber Monday is payday and Black Friday arrives before the wages do.The big sales started weeks ago. Currys, AO.com and Boots launched on 28 October, and Currys and AO run until Tuesday 1 December, the day after Cyber Monday.Which? found that 83% of 175 Black Friday deals it tracked were the same price or cheaper at some other point in the year, and none were at their lowest price on Black Friday itself. This is the first Cyber Monday with regulated Buy Now, Pay Later (since 15 July 2026) and the first since Report Fraud replaced Action Fraud.

Cyber Monday used to be the online-only follow-up to Black Friday: the day shoppers got back to their desks and finished their Christmas lists. In 2026 it is more than that. The way the calendar falls means Cyber Monday is payday for a large share of UK workers, which changes who can actually afford to shop on which day.

This guide covers the date and how it is set, the payday twist, which UK retailers are running Cyber Monday deals, what years of price tracking say about whether those deals are genuine, and the consumer rights and scam warnings that apply this year. For the wider sales picture, see our Black Friday 2026 UK guide.

When is Cyber Monday 2026?

What date is Cyber Monday in the UK?

Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday 30 November. The UK uses the same date as the US, because Cyber Monday is set by the American calendar: it is always the Monday after US Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. The name was coined by a US retail trade body in 2005 to describe the jump in online orders when people returned to work after the Thanksgiving weekend.

Here are the key dates around it this year.

The 2026 twist: Cyber Monday is payday

This is the detail most Cyber Monday guides miss. Many UK employers pay monthly salaries on the last working day of the month. In November 2026, that is Monday 30 November, the same day as Cyber Monday.

Last year the order was reversed. In 2025 the last working day of November was Friday 28 November, which was Black Friday itself, and Cyber Monday came after payday. This year, anyone paid on the last working day has to get through Black Friday on last month’s wages, with the new month’s pay arriving on Cyber Monday.

Should you borrow to buy on Black Friday?

Usually not. Most retailers now run their sales as a single event from Black Friday through to Cyber Monday, and many started in October. The risk of waiting until payday is not normally the price, which tends to hold for the weekend, but the stock on a specific popular item. If the item you want is a mainstream product in plenty of colours or sizes, waiting three days for your wages is rarely a gamble.

There is a second, less obvious catch. If you are paid on 30 November, that pay has to cover Christmas too. Many employers pay December wages early, around Christmas Eve, but that can leave a very long wait until your January payday. Our Christmas bank holidays 2026 guide explains how December pay dates fall this year.

Key takeaway If you are paid on the last working day, treat Cyber Monday as your main shopping day. Use Black Friday to research prices and build a shortlist, then buy once your wages land.

Cyber Monday vs Black Friday: which has the better deals?

For most products, the honest answer is that there is little difference. The two days are now bookends of the same sale rather than separate events. The data does show some patterns worth knowing, though.

  • Spending is spread across all four days. Adobe Analytics found UK shoppers spent £3.8 billion online across Black Friday to Cyber Monday in 2025, up 4.6% on the year before.
  • Black Friday is still the bigger day. Retailer data from the marketing technology firm Redbrain put Black Friday 2025 sales at about 4.5 times an average October day, with Cyber Monday still running at about 3.1 times.
  • Some categories peak later. Adobe’s 2025 forecast expected the deepest TV discounts on Cyber Monday, computers to peak across the whole weekend, and toys to be cheapest on Black Friday.
  • Sales events move spending rather than add to it. Barclays reported that UK card spending in November 2025 actually fell 1.1% year on year, even with Black Friday in the month.

Here is how that translates into a simple plan by category.

Which UK retailers are doing Cyber Monday 2026?

Almost every major UK retailer runs Cyber Monday deals, but the important detail is when each sale ends. Here is what had been published or reported by early November 2026.

Amazon’s Cyber Monday pattern

Amazon announces its Black Friday dates with a press release each November, and the event has always run straight through to Cyber Monday. In 2023 it was announced on 2 November and ran from 17 to 27 November. In 2024 it was announced on 8 November and ran from 21 November to 2 December. In 2025 it was announced on 13 November and ran from 20 November to 1 December. If 2026 follows the same pattern, expect an announcement in the first half of November and deals from around 19 or 20 November, ending on Cyber Monday, 30 November. Our Amazon Black Friday 2026 guide will track the confirmed dates.

The Currys price guarantee and Cyber Monday

Currys has brought back its Black Friday price guarantee for 2026. If you buy an eligible Black Friday product between 28 October and 24 November, and the price drops before 1 December, Currys will refund the difference. You must register your purchase by 27 November.

This matters for Cyber Monday because the guarantee window covers it. For example: if you buy a TV from Currys on 20 November, register it by 27 November, and then see it cheaper on Cyber Monday, you can claim the difference. But if you buy on Black Friday itself, after the 24 November cut-off, a Cyber Monday price drop is not covered. If you are buying from Currys, buy early and register, rather than waiting. More detail is in our Currys Black Friday 2026 guide, and Argos is covered in our Argos Black Friday 2026 guide.

Are Cyber Monday deals real? What the price data shows

Every year, consumer group Which? tracks the prices of products sold as Black Friday deals for six months before and after the sale. Its study published in November 2025 looked at 175 home, tech and health products at eight major retailers around Black Friday 2024.

  • 83% were the same price or cheaper on at least one other date outside the four-week sales period.
  • None of the deals were at their cheapest price of the year on Black Friday itself.
  • At Amazon, 88% of deals were the same price or cheaper outside the sale, and 63% were actually cheaper at some point.
  • At Currys, no sale product had been cheaper in the six months before Black Friday, keeping its promise, although some prices did fall afterwards.

One example shows how this works. A Samsung washing machine sold at £399 as a John Lewis Black Friday deal had been the same price or cheaper on 108 days before the sale and 115 days after it, falling as low as £369.

None of this means Cyber Monday deals are fake. It means a “deal” label tells you very little. The useful question is not “is this discounted?” but “is this a good price for this product?”

The four-question deal test

Before you buy anything on Cyber Monday, run it through these four questions. If it fails any one of them, wait.

  1. Has it been this price before? Check a price history tool or the retailer’s own price record. If the “deal” price has appeared several times this year, there is no rush.
  2. Is the “was” price real? Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, misleading reference prices are an unfair commercial practice, and the Competition and Markets Authority can now fine firms directly. A “was” price should be one the item genuinely sold at. If you cannot find it anywhere, treat the discount as marketing.
  3. Is it the exact same model? Check the full model number. Some sale products are versions made for the sales period, with a different code and a lower spec than the one reviewed online.
  4. Would you buy it at this price in January? If the answer is no, the discount is doing the deciding, not you.
Key takeaway A Cyber Monday price is only a deal if it beats what you could have paid on most other days of the year. Check price history and model numbers before the countdown timer pushes you.

How you pay on Cyber Monday matters

The way you pay decides what protection you have if an order never arrives, turns up faulty, or the seller goes bust.

Payment methodProtectionGood to know
Credit cardSection 75: the card provider is jointly liable for items costing £100 to £30,000Applies even if you only paid part of the cost on the card
Debit cardChargeback: a voluntary scheme run by card networksNot a legal right, and time limits apply, so claim quickly
Buy Now, Pay LaterNew since 15 July 2026: Section 75-style protection for £100 to £30,000, plus access to the Financial OmbudsmanOnly covers agreements taken out on or after 15 July 2026
Bank transferVery littleAvoid paying sellers you do not know by bank transfer
PayPalPayPal’s own buyer protectionPaying by credit card through PayPal usually means Section 75 does not apply, though chargeback may

What changed for Buy Now, Pay Later this year?

This is the first Cyber Monday since Buy Now, Pay Later came under Financial Conduct Authority regulation on 15 July 2026. Providers must now check that you can afford what you borrow, explain payment schedules and missed-payment consequences clearly, and treat you fairly under the FCA’s Consumer Duty. If something goes wrong, you can now complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

That is a real improvement, but it does not make BNPL free money. Adobe expected Cyber Monday 2025 to be the biggest single day ever for UK BNPL spending, at around £159 million. If you split Cyber Monday purchases into instalments, add every repayment date to your calendar, because missed payments can still lead to fees and damage your credit file.

Your rights if you change your mind or it arrives faulty

Because Cyber Monday is mostly online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you more rights than you have in a shop.

  • You can cancel most online orders for any reason within 14 days of the item being delivered.
  • You then have 14 days to send the item back after telling the seller you are cancelling.
  • The seller must refund you within 14 days of getting the item back, or of you showing proof that you sent it.
  • Exceptions include personalised items, sealed hygiene products once unsealed, and digital downloads once you have started them.

If the item is faulty, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you a separate right to reject it for a full refund within 30 days. After that, you are entitled to a repair or replacement first.

The Christmas gift returns trap

If you order on Cyber Monday and the parcel arrives on, say, Thursday 3 December, your legal 14-day cancellation window ends around 17 December, a week before anyone opens their presents. For gifts, the legal minimum is not enough. Check each retailer’s Christmas returns policy before you buy, as many extend returns into January, and ask for a gift receipt.

Hidden fees are now banned

Since April 2025, retailers can no longer show a headline price and then add unavoidable compulsory fees at checkout. The price you see should include every charge you cannot avoid. Optional extras such as next-day delivery can still be added, but they must be clearly optional. If the checkout total jumps with fees that were not shown up front, that is worth reporting to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice.

Will a Cyber Monday order arrive before Christmas?

Almost certainly, if it is a standard UK delivery. Ordering on 30 November leaves more than three weeks before Christmas. The pressure points are marketplace sellers shipping from overseas, which can take weeks, and large items that need a booked delivery slot.

Remember that the post stops for longer than usual this year. Because Boxing Day falls on a Saturday, there are no Royal Mail collections or deliveries on Friday 25, Saturday 26 or Monday 28 December. If you are passing a Cyber Monday purchase on by post, check our Royal Mail last posting dates for Christmas 2026.

Cyber Monday scams: how to stay safe

Fraudsters use the sales rush because shoppers are moving fast. City of London Police figures show £11.8 million was lost to online shopping fraud over the 2024–25 festive season, from 1 November 2024 to 31 January 2025. The warning signs are the same every year:

  • Prices that are far too low on high-demand items such as games consoles, trainers and phones, especially from sellers you have never heard of.
  • Ads on social media that link to unfamiliar websites. Type the retailer’s address into your browser instead of clicking.
  • Requests to pay by bank transfer, or to move off a marketplace’s own payment system.
  • “Missed delivery” texts and emails asking you to pay a small fee or click a link. These spike around the sales.

Turn on two-step verification for your email and shopping accounts, and pay by credit card where you can. If you are caught out, call your bank straight away using the number on the back of your card.

Where do you report a scam now?

This is the first Cyber Monday since Report Fraud replaced Action Fraud as the national service for reporting fraud and cyber crime in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. You can report online at reportfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040. In Scotland, report to Police Scotland on 101. Scam texts can be forwarded free to 7726.
