Lidl’s fireworks went on sale in the middle aisle on Thursday 15 October 2026. There are 11 products this year, all from the Standard Fireworks brand, priced from £1.99 for ten giant sparklers to £49.99 for the 90-shot Supercharged cake, according to Lidl’s product listings and a round-up of the range.

The headline deal is back: three selected fireworks for £25, mixing and matching between a low-noise selection box, a 16-shot cake and a pack of rockets. And the top cake is cheaper than last year: Supercharged has dropped from £59.99 to £49.99.

As always with Lidl’s middle aisle, the fireworks are in store only and on sale while stocks last. Here is the full range, the best ways to spend your money and how Lidl compares with Aldi this year.

Prices and contents from Lidl’s product pages and the range listing shared on HotUKDeals, October 2026. Storm Force shot count from Lidl’s product page.

Our take: Lidl’s range is smaller than Aldi’s 14 products this year and tops out lower, at £49.99 rather than £69.99. Its strengths are the multibuy, which makes a complete small display cheap, and three recognisable single-ignition cakes at £19.99, £39.99 and £49.99 for people who want to light one fuse and stand back.

How to get the most from the 3 for £25 deal

The multibuy covers three products, normally £9.99 each, and you can mix and match them, according to the deal listing. Three for £25 works out at £8.33 each. Because each product is a different type of firework, one of each gives you a well-rounded display:

CombinationWhat you getPrice
One of each11 fountains and a Roman candle, a 16-shot cake, 6 rockets£25.00
All low noise2 x The Energiser + 1 x Thunderbolt Rockets: 22 fountains, 2 Roman candles, 6 rockets£25.00
Most in the sky2 x Live Wire + 1 x Thunderbolt Rockets: two 16-shot cakes and 6 rockets£25.00
Same items at full priceAny three at £9.99£29.97

For a family garden display, one of each is the obvious choice: fountains to start, rockets in the middle and the Live Wire cake to finish. If you have pets or close neighbours, the all-low-noise combination is the one to pick.

Which Lidl fireworks are the best value?

Single-ignition cakes: price per shot

CakePriceShotsPer shot
Supercharged£49.999056p
Live Wire£9.991662p
Velocity£39.995671p
Storm Force£19.992580p

Supercharged is the best value of Lidl’s cakes per shot, at about 56p, and the price cut makes it better value than last year. Live Wire comes close if you buy it in the multibuy, where it works out at about 52p a shot. Storm Force is the most expensive per shot at 80p. Velocity sits in the middle at about 71p, and Lidl lists an 8-metre safety distance for it, as it does for Live Wire.

Remember that shot count tells you how many tubes are in a cake, not how big each burst is or how long it runs. A cake with fewer, larger shots can be more impressive than one with lots of small ones, so treat price per shot as a rough guide.

Selection boxes: price per piece

Selection boxPricePiecesPer piece
The Energiser£9.991283p
Magnetism£16.9914£1.21
Stratosphere£39.9922£1.82

The Energiser works out at 69p a piece in the multibuy.

The Energiser is cheapest per piece because it is almost all fountains, which stay on the ground. Stratosphere costs more per piece but has the most variety, with rockets, Roman candles, shot tubes and two small cakes, which makes it the best single box for a longer evening.

Lidl vs Aldi fireworks 2026: head to head

Both discounters put their fireworks on sale on the same day, 15 October, and both sell in store only. Here is how they compare:

Aldi figures from Aldi’s own listing and product descriptions, October 2026.

Our verdict: on cakes, Aldi wins clearly on shots for your money: The Boss gives you 48 more shots than Supercharged for the same £49.99, and Aldi’s Uproar costs far less per shot than anything at Lidl. Lidl wins on the multibuy, which gives you a complete, varied small display for £25, and its low-noise rocket pack has no direct equivalent at Aldi. If you live near both, the best value is often a mix: Lidl’s 3 for £25 for the start of the evening and an Aldi cake for the finale. See our Aldi fireworks 2026 guide for Aldi’s full range.

Low-noise fireworks at Lidl

Two of Lidl’s fireworks are described as low noise this year, and both are in the multibuy:

  • The Energiser (£9.99): 12 pieces, made up of 11 fountains and a Roman candle. Fountains crackle and fizz rather than bang, which makes this one of the gentlest boxes on any supermarket shelf.
  • Thunderbolt Rockets (£9.99): a pack of six low-noise, multi-effect rockets. Low-noise rockets are unusual in supermarket ranges, so this is the pick if you want something in the sky without the loud bangs.

Low noise does not mean silent, but it does help pets, young children and neighbours. If you have pets, walk dogs in daylight, keep animals indoors with windows and curtains closed, and give them somewhere quiet to hide.

Start with fountains and wheels, move on to rockets and Roman candles, and save your biggest cake for last. Once a single-ignition cake starts, it fires every shot without stopping, so it makes a natural finale.

Where Lidl won’t sell you fireworks

Not every Lidl stocks fireworks. In 2025, Lidl told Edinburgh MP Scott Arthur that it would not sell fireworks in any of its Edinburgh stores, though it is not running a ban across the UK. Edinburgh council is also running 14 firework control zones from 30 October to 8 November 2026, where setting off fireworks is banned.

Elsewhere in Scotland, the law only allows fireworks to be sold to the public between 7am and 6pm, with a limit of 5kg per sale, according to the Scottish Government. In Northern Ireland, you need a fireworks licence from the Department of Justice to buy, keep or use fireworks, apart from indoor fireworks and sparklers, and you must show it at the till (nidirect).

Lidl’s website lists the range, but you cannot order fireworks online. Stock varies by store and middle-aisle lines are rarely restocked, so ring your local store before a special trip, and go early: the weekend of 31 October and 1 November will be the busiest.

The rules: buying and setting off fireworks

  • Age: it is illegal to sell category F2 or F3 fireworks to anyone under 18, or for under-18s to have them in a public place. Expect to be asked for ID.
  • Where: only on private land, such as your garden, never in the street or a park.
  • Space: Lidl lists an 8-metre safety distance for Velocity and Live Wire, and most garden fireworks need the same. If your garden cannot give you that, choose fountains instead.
  • Penalties: in England and Wales, up to £5,000, up to six months in prison, or both, plus on-the-spot fines of £90 (GOV.UK).

Firework safety: the essentials

  1. Keep fireworks in a closed box and take them out one at a time.
  2. Read the instructions on each firework, by torchlight if you need to.
  3. Light at arm’s length with a taper or firework lighter, then stand well back.
  4. Never go back to a firework once it is lit, even if it seems to have gone out.
  5. Never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them.
  6. Point rockets away from people. Launch them from a tube or a bottle in a bucket of sand.
  7. Keep naked flames and cigarettes away, and don’t drink alcohol if you are lighting fireworks.

Sparklers: Lidl’s giant sparklers are 40cm long. Light one at a time, wear gloves, hold them at arm’s length and drop finished ones into a bucket of water. Always supervise children, and don’t give sparklers to children under five.
